I think you could argue that avatars, particularly in highly developed online communities, can temporarily supplant the &quot;self&quot; or identity of millions of individual internet users in a similar fashion.  I would not be surprised to learn that a few may struggle over which &quot;reality&quot; is real.  As an immersive experience, the internet can fool the mind as easily as a mirror.]]></description>
